Have made several trips since last fishing report. Fishing continues to be great!! Especially at night.when fishing the lights. Trip on April 29th was a little slow so we moved to a new spot, and ended up with 2 huge trout. The 2 big ones definitely saved the trip.
Took Susan and Matt from Kentucky twice in the same day. The day trip was a little slow, but did manage one keeper speckled trout and a few white trout. They decided to try their luck at night, and the fishing was great - 10 reds and 10 speckled trout. Kept 5 of the reds and 4 of the trout.
Next notable trip was with Heath, Jake, Kadie, Alan & Lisa from Louisiana. We made it out to the jetties, and fishing was great - 20 hardtails, 10 flounders, 2 keeper pompano, and a lot of small fish, but it was action packed. Moved inshore for a couple of hours, and only managed 1 keeper trout, and a lot of small mangrove snappers.
Have done about 10 trips in the last 12 days. Fishing continues to be good. Have had several great night trips - catching several redfish and specs on a few different trips. Everybody has been having a lot of fun. Most memorable was a trip with twins, who both caught their very first fish.

Have a few more trips to report for this week. All have been sucessful trips. Great weather and great fishing!!
On one of the night trips, we must have caught 20 trout with about 12 nice keepers. Have caught a few nice spanish and some redfish from 14 pounds up to 20 pounds.
If you have been waiting for the fish to start biting before you book a trip, now is the time. Great weather to boot.

Did three late afternoon/evening trips this week. Fishing was great!!!! The trout have showed up around the lights along with some nice redfish. Most of the trout were on the small side. On one of the trips we did manage about 10 keeper trout. The redfish range from slot size up to huge bull reds. Quite a challenge getting them from around the docks. We did manage to land a couple.
I am making some night time bookings - give us a call and join the fun!!

A couple of trips to talk about this week. Fishing continues to get better by the day. Went out to the jetties with Brett, Molly, Don, Claudia and Miles from Michigan, and caught several sheephead (enough for dinner) that took a couple of hours. It got a little crowded with other fishermen, so we made a move inland to finish out the trip. Caught one keeper speckled trout and 2 keeper pompanos. Turned out to be a great trip. A good time was had by all.
Next trip was with Kevin, Ethan & Brodie from Wisconsin. Went out in the middle of the day and the bite was a little slow. We did manage 3 nice fish - 2 nice specks and 1 nice pompano. The whole trip was spent inland due to the wind blowing 15-20 knots. Team Wisconsin did a good job on a slow day. I think they caught every good bite we had.
We are now part of the Reel Surprise Fishing Charter team out of San Roc Cay. We are ready to take you fishing, so give us a call, 251-752-8009.

Four great trips to report on this week. First trip was a Father & Son Team, Pete & Luke. They absolutely wore out the sheephead. The water was pretty clear. They would catch one, and leave it in the water because there would be 20 more behind that fish. Hooked up one right after the other and continued this for hours. It was catch & release trip. We stopped counting after the first 25.
Next trip was repeat customer Bruce from Indiana with his grandchildren, Kevin & Susan. Cold windy morning, but the bite was on. In 2 hours we had 2 pompano and all the keeper-size sheephead they wanted, and threw back 15 or so. Went inland and fished a few other areas, only managed one more bluefish. Kevin & Susan were real troopers on a cold morning. Thank goodness there was a lot of action to keep our minds off the cold 15-20 knot north wind.
Third trip was that same afternoon with Larry, Nancy, Brad & Brett. A little slow getting going. Threw out some chum - then it was on. Caught sheephead constantly for the next few hours until we went through 6 dozen shrimp. Family kept enough for dinner, threw the rest back. Probably caught 20 sheephead and one pompano. Too many for me to keep up with. Everybody please remember than these fish are here to spawn, so please don not keep more than you need.
Last trip of the week started slow out by the jetties. Only 2 sheephead in about an hour. So, we moved inshore to get away from all the boat traffic. Managed to catch 6 really nice trout in about 2 hours. Cody, Marie & Don from Huntsville all caught fish, and got enough for dinner.
Getting a little busier every day - so give us a call ,251-752-8009, and LET'S GO GET EM!!!!

News from Hooked Up "Near" Shore Charter is that we are now doing charters out of Sanroc Cay Marina. We are now part of Sanroc's near shore fishing team. See ya there!!!!
Had a few trips since last report catching a sheep head and pompano around inshore structures. We missed what must have been a 7 plus pound speckled trout the other day.
The best trip we have had recently was with Jack & Scott from Michigan. Inshore fishing was slow so we took advantage of the light north wind, and went out about 5 miles, and caught 20 red snappers and 3 large sheep head in about 2 hours. A few of the snapper were over 10 pounds, and almost all were keeper size if they were in season. Using live finger mullet for bait, and the snapper were eating them faster than we could get them in water.
Let's go fishing!!!!

Three trips to report on for this week. One of the best trips I have had, and one of the worst trips fishing catching wise. Went out in Mobile Bay on two different trips and a little bit in Fish River. Caught 1 trout between the two trips. Had great company, but the fish would not bite. We were marking them, but could not get them to bite.
The other trip was out of Orange Beach, and we caught fish from beginning to end. Large Speckled Trouts from 2 to 4 pounds - caught about 12 of them. Caught a few sheep head and a 3.25 pound pompano, several small groupers and several small mangrove snappers. We were fishing on inshore wrecks using mostly live shrimp.
LET'S GO FISHING!!!!!!!!
Below - Cliff from Lake Eerie - Nice Pompano
Left - Bruce from Indiana with Cliff - nice mess of fish!!!!

On January 28th, did a short fishing trip on some inshore wrecks and reefs trying to find the fish for my charter on the 29th. Caught 3 5-pound speckled trout in about an hour. Also caught several nice bluefish.
On January 29th, went out early in the morning to fish the low tide. Very slow starting off marking fish, but could not get them to bite. Two hours into the trip, the fish started biting - lost a lot of fish in the wreck. We did manage to catch 2 very nice speckled trout (2.5 & 3.5 pounds), and a nice sheephead. Jack from Iowa caught the biggest trout (see the picture), mostly using shrimp & fiddler crabs for bait. Did catch one of the trout on an artifical lure, and had a few other hits.
Starting to get booked up - CALL ME!!!!!!!

Weather has finally changed for the better. Made 4 trips this week. Two afternoon trips were a little slow as far as the bite goes. Caught a few small speckled trouts, sheep head, skip jacks and sail catfish on each trip. Not great fishing, but was really nice to get out there.
Next trip was 1/23/13, in the morning. Caught 3 bull reds, one slot redfish, a few sheep head, red snapper and a keeper sea bass. Fished mostly around the pass and along the beach. The bite was on. Went through 4 dozen shrimp in 2 hours. Easily saw a couple of hundred bull reds running the beach all day.
On 1/24/13, went out to fish some inshore wrecks and reefs. Fish starting biting almost immediately. Caught keeper size speckled trout and pompano. Pompano were all around 2 to 2 1/2 pounds each. Reached our limit quickly, ended up having to throw back several nice fish. Caught 6 speckled trouts - biggest was about 2 1/2 pounds. Make sure to check out the pictures. Best pompano trip ever.
With the weather getting better, I am starting to get booked up, so call soon and let's go get'em.
